Shopping malls are facing an accelerated Retail Ice Age & Darwinian Destruction, especially in high-crime states like New York, New Jersey Illinois and California as Burt Flickinger discussed today on MORNINGS with MARIA. With consumers afraid to shop because of crime, malls need to become more experiential with gaming theaters, Topgolf restaurants, tournaments & mixed residential/retail formats. Burt also discussed the Black Friday bust & Cyber Monday disappointment which, as he had predicted, resulted from consumers shopping between Labor Day & Columbus Day in the expectation of massive out-of-stocks during the traditional holiday shopping season.
