The National Retail Federation is projecting $850 Billion in holiday spending, but as Burt Flickinger discussed during his weekly "Retail Roundup" on MORNINGS with MARIA shoppers may cut $80-$100B in spending because of inflation & higher energy costs. Amazon is one of Burt's "Flick's Picks" retail winners because it has its own ships to support inventory, but consumers should complete holiday shopping between Halloween & Veteran's Day or face empty shelves and stockings. Accuweather is meanwhile predicting more blizzards this winter and even if ports are open workers are exhausted, all of which is slowing shipments even more. Winners are on-shoring manufacturing: Make it in America, Power to Prosper.
