Nike has been ‘strip mining women’s sports’: retail watcher

December 27, 2019

Watch Burt Flickinger on Mornings with Maria with Cheryl Casone | Fox Business Network

Former NFL player Jack Brewer and Strategic Resource Group managing director Burt Flickinger discuss Nike’s release of a Colin Kaepernick branded shoe.

Flickinger discusses how Nike has strip mined women’s sports and has not sufficiently supported the women and men who built the pro leagues (NFL, MLB, et al.), many of whom played without pensions and decent contracts. It appears since Liz Dolan left Nike in the 1990s, the company has mostly strip mined women’s sports at the scholastic, colleges and pro levels.
